Raum Schiff Erde 2011 - Hell yeah, it's rocket science!

The Part-Time Scientists are a bunch of guys who are working on accomplishing an unmanned mission to the moon. As an official team on the Google Lunar X-Prize, we're going to send a rover to the moon and transmit HD images and videos back to earth. In the past 18 months, we have built several rover prototypes, some of which are already able to drive. We do rocket science, and we love it!

Karsten Becker: The best thing about being a Part-Time Scientist is doing stuff that I never thought of doing before. Together we tackle the difficult task of making electronics work in space and on the moon.

Unter dem Titel „Raum Schiff Erde“ findet seit 2010 jährlich eine Hamburger Un-Konferenz für Digitales, Interaction-Design und Internet statt. Das Themenspektrum der Vorträge reichte dabei von digitaler Fingerkunst, der möglichen und unmöglichen Selbstdarstellung von Musikern in sozialen Netzwerken, über neue Ansätze des Internet-basierten Fernsehens (IPTV), bis hin zu Beispielen spielerischen Verhaltens von Menschen in Städten sowie ökonomischen und ökologischen Betrachtungen über unseren Planeten im digitalen Zeitalter.
